Happy 21st Birthday to me

Yep, it's my birthday. 21 in fact. So now I'm officially old lol. And so far, it's been a great day. Now, I did have to go to work today, but all my workmates had a few surprises for me. They had all signed two cards for me, the secretary had made me a cake and the boss had bought me a present, which was really cool. So, it's pretty much been the best birthday I've had to far. Can't wait to see what happens tonight *wink wink*

A Novel Idea

So, we all know that I want to write a novel, correct? *hears the crickets chirping, ignores it* Well, I wanna run something by you if you are reading this. I want to do a supernatural, vampire story that bites Twilight in the ass. If you're wondering, I want to do a vampire story where vampires are killers and not prissy, love-struck boys. So, here's the idea: it's going to be about a dhampire (half-human, half-vampire) that is also a PI (original, I know), who has teamed up with a cop and another PI in order to investigate a series of murders and disappearances. As he delves deeper into the investigation, he discovers a sinister plot to raise a powerful demon capable of washing the world in darkness. Oh and the reason he's a PI is because he's searching for the person who brutually murdered his (human) parents and abducted his sister, so maybe this investigation may hold some answers to his past and his true heritage
Sound like a good idea or too much like Angel meets Blade? You tell me. Please. Pretty please

Lying Sisters and F**ked-up Families

Drama, drama, drama. Had heaps of it today. See, my mother rang me up to tell me that my sister lost her baby last night (she was 14 weeks pregnant). However, here's the twist: that's not what happened. My sister actually had an abortion and didn't tell my mother, so when Mum rang me, I knew I had to tell her the truth of what really happened. Reaction? Pretty much what I expected. Mum broke down into tears a few times because she was never told about it. Over the past few weeks, she had been really excited about being a grandmother for the first time and even bought a few things, only to have this happen to her. It's really hurting her, all because my sister is complete fucktard of a bitch. She fell pregnant just to be like her friend, who has a baby, and also to trap her boyfriend in the relationship. However, he still left her, so now she went ahead and had the abortion done, before telling Mum a lie. And I already knew, having known since at least three days beforehand, except I never told told Mum because it wasn't really my business and it wasn't my place to tell her: it was my sister's and she should have told Mum before the procedure. So now, my family is somewhat torn apart. As far as I know, my mother doesn't want to see my sister again
So, how's that for fucked up?

Fanfiction Trivia

This is all the trivia revolving around my major fanfics. I had been wanting to do this for a long time and felt that this is the best place for them. Ready? Here they are. Spoilers will be in black, so just highlight if you wanna read them. Also, there may be some more coming. Okay, here is all the trivia

Animorphs

  • The first Animorphs was based upon a dream, in which a front cover for an Animorphs book depicted the gang wearing blue raincoats in the rainforest, with a couple of children with them, which turned into The Lasterol Stone
  • The appearance and name of Tori are based upon two members from the build team on Mythbusters: Kari Byron and Tori Belleci. Tori Berenson’s appearance is based upon Byron, while her name came from Belleci
  • In Battle for Earth, there is a chapter in which John is in his giant snake morph while battling the Howlers, while music is playing. The song is ‘One Step Closer’, though originally, it was to be ‘The Sickness’ by Disturbed

Love is More than Words

  • The first chapter of LiMtW was written in about 20 minutes and was posted as a trial. Surprisingly, it became a very popular series
  • The second half of LiMtW was re-written following Draco and Hermione’s first kiss, as it was considered by fans that the kiss was too early
  • The chapters surrounding the Horcrux on the Isle of Fear was going to have Lupin in them, accompanying the group and helping out as a werewolf. However, he was cut from the chapters as it was considered too silly
  • The love scene between Draco and Hermione is the very first lemon ever published online by me
  • In LiMtW2, there was to be something sexual between Lucius and Ron, but it was toned down greatly and is only briefly mentioned at least once
  • The vampire Warwick wasn’t in the early drafts of LiMtW2
  • Originally, Hermione was going to be pregnant or have a child with Ron in LiMtW3, but this idea was discarded to protect the Dramione relationship
  • It took a month before the final chapter was finally published, as the wedding scene was quite difficult to do. Didn’t want it too rushed or sloppy
  • During the Battle of Hogwarts, there was a chapter in Hermione’s POV, in which Sirius suddenly returns to protect her from a werewolf Lupin (Sirius also marries Draco and Hermione). However, it was seemed too silly and impossible for Sirius to return, so it was rewritten. However, when LiMtW3 was printed out, that chapter was left in, resulting in a re-printing
  • The final battle in LiMtW3 takes place in Hogwarts, which was published online in 2006, finishing in early ’07. Some time after that, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was released, in which the final battle takes place in Hogwarts. Coincidence?
  • At a total of 378 reviews across the three stories, the Love is More than Words trilogy is by far the best series ever, with people still adding it to favourites. The Sons of Sparda series comes second at 251 reviews so far, with the final story still in progress, but the total reviews won’t eclipse LiMtW
  • There was to be a spin-off revolving around Warwick’s past, but this idea was soon dropped, as time couldn’t be committed to it
  • The character of Elizabeth Malfoy was named after my youngest sister, Elisabeth

Path of Fatal Lightning

  • Originally, there were to be a total of 12 stories in the Fatal Lightning series, each one a different crossover, in this order: Mortal Kombat, Dragonball Z, Legacy of Kain, Devil May Cry, Supernatural/Horses of Apocalypse, Final Fantasy VII, Hellgate London, Underworld, Aliens vs Predator, Farscape and Aeon Flux. However, the series ended at three due to lack of commitment and interest
  • The Path of Fatal Lightning series is a rewrite of the Vile Vengeance series, which focused on Legacy of Kain. Here, the focus shifts to Tekken
  • All three Fatal Lightning stories have been rewritten: Fatal Lightning was originally a Jin/Xiaoyu story, but was changed to a Jin/Julia, with the character of Jin’s evil twin, Ashe, being created for the story. Mortal Kombat originally started out as a tournament in OutWorld, until Onaga attacked everyone, forcing them to scatter and regroup. There is not much change to the storyline of Path of the Dragon, except for some slight differences
  • Path of Fatal Lightning had three different endings written for it, until one was written that would end the story well and lead into Fatal Lightning 2
  • There were some slight changes made to Scorpion’s relationship in Fatal Lightning 2. At first, his partner was Kira, but this was changed to Kitana and Nitara was later written in as their daughter. A spin-off was written about Scorpion and Kitana detailing their relationship, how Nitara came about and how she became a vampire. It also had Scorpion and Nitara working together to destroy Baraka’s army as shown in Mortal Kombat. However, this was never published and is not considered part of the storyline
  • In the original Path of the Dragon, Hwoarang was human when he fused with Jin. In the rewritten version, he undergoes a ritual performed by Scorpion in order to make himself half-demon so he could have the power level to fuse

Sons of Sparda

  • The first Sons of Sparda was intended as a spin-off from the original Path of Fatal Lightning storyline to show how everyone came to that point before the story started. Dante and gang were to appear in Path of Fatal Lightning 5
  • Sons of Sparda II was originally to be a crossover with Mortal Kombat, in which Vergil was married to a beautiful Mileena. There were also two versions of this: a one-shot having Vergil falling into the Netherrealm following a battle with Balthazar. There, Vergil met Mileena, performed a ritual with her to restore her face, conceived a child with her (who was born in the Netherrealm), battled against Balthazar, Noob Saibot and Baraka. The second version was a true sequel to Sons of Sparda and has Vergil, Nero and Dante travelling to OutWorld, before returning to their home as Onaga invades their world. Vergil also later married a restored Mileena. However, this was never finished following Sons of Sparda’s original incompleteness
  • The second half of Sons of Sparda and entire of Sons of Sparda II were completely rewritten following a revival of interest, which led to Rise of Abigail, Devils Never Cry and End of All Hope
  • Rise of Abigail was based upon the Devil May Cry Anime Series. While the start of Sons of Sparda was based upon the start of Devil May Cry 4, Devils Never Cry was based mostly on the second half on DMC4. The title for Sons of Sparda 5 is from the Nightwish song ‘End of All Hope’
  • The first chapter of Prologue is taken from the first issue of the Devil May Cry comic series entitled ‘Evil Woman, Book 1’. The aftermath of the children’s lives following the fire are shown in flashbacks in Devils Never Cry, while Prologue finishes just before Sons of Sparda
  • The story for Legacy of Dante was going to be about the rise of Mephistopheles, but following the release of Resident Evil 5, it was changed to be about the son of Mundus, Albert Wesker and the Archangels. Mephistopheles was also going to be the fully-grown child of Tristan and Lucia following a brief affair, as he was going to be inside Lucia following the ending of End of All Hope. However, it seemed a little like season 4 of Angel and was part of the reason his story was dropped for Legacy of Dante
  • The idea of Tristan being kidnapped as a baby and growing up away from his parents was inspired by an episode in season 3 of Angel, in which Angel’s son is kidnapped and raised away from his father. Whereas Tristan and Connor both grew up away from their fathers and returned hating them, Connor came back a few days later as a teenager from a hell dimension, while Tristan was gone for eighteen years in an alternate dimension
  • The name of Tristan James comes from my deceased cousin, while the name of Jennifer Lee is from a friend of mine

Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel

  • To date, there are six Angel stories that take place some time after ‘Not Fade Away’, most of which ignore the events of ‘After the Fall’. A seventh one will be an adaptation of ‘After the Fall’, titled Final Destination, the sixth chapter in the Poster Girl series, split into three parts
  • After the Fall and The Chosen Ones are the only stories that feature a crossover with each other. A similar idea will be used for a future Buffy and Angel story, but crossing over together to deal with the same enemy
  • Spike: After the Fall was based upon the mini-series spin-off from ‘After the Fall’ and was completed three days after the mini-series’ release. It is also not related to ‘07 After the Fall
  • Also, the opening battle scenes in Spike: After the Fall are similar to Spike’s First Night story in After the Fall, particularly Illyria’s battle with the demonic spiders
  • The Spike: After the Fall series are the only Buffyverse or non-Buffyverse stories to appear on two different fanfiction sites
  • There was a very short-lived story titled ‘Spike: the Series’, in which Spike, Illyria and Connor team up following ‘Not Fade Away’. Intending to be episodic, the series didn’t last past episode three. Spike: After the Fall has some influences from this, such as a vampiric Gunn as the first Big Bad and Pavayne as a major Big Bad (though Pavayne was the Big Bad in the sequel). Also, a rogue Slayer named Ava was brought over into Spike: After the Fall from ‘Spike: the Series’
  • The battle scene at the skull stage in Spike: Crimson Sky is hugely influenced from ‘Spike: After the Fall #3’, while the chapters in which Spike faces the ghosts of his past and battles against Lilitu are taken from ‘Auld Lang Syne’, while Spike: End of Days is influenced by ‘Buffy: Season 8’, particularly the storyline about Twilight and the end of magic. Also, the battle against the Perstelik demon in Spike: Crimson Sky is similar to a battle against the same type of demon in 'Angel: Old Friends'
  • Inferno underwent three different changes. The first was going to involve a five-chaptered ten-arced story, resulting in fifty chapters. This was changed to an ordinary story, but was then heavily rewritten. It also features the first ever Dark Willow/Illyria fight scene, in which Illyria won
  • Spike: End of Days featured the first ever Buffyverse love scene. It was also the first love scene written since Raziel and Rayne’s in Deliverance over a year before
  • The three-chapter arc about Axtius and Monster Island in Anything for Love comes from the Buffy/Angel crossover novel ‘Monster Island’. Axtius is also set to return in Shadow of the Day
  • There is a mistake in the Spike: After the Fall series. Set in 2004, Spike meets up with his daughter, who was born around the same time as Connor. Connor was born in 2001, which means that Spike meets Elena, she should be three years old, however, she is four, which means she was born in 2000. This mistakes continues in Crimson Sky and End of Days
  • In Living On A Prayer, the original story was going to have Cordelia ascend to the heaves at the end of Anything for Love. She was then to return amnesiac and regains her memories, but becomes Jasmine. When her powers were full, Jasmine was going to split from Cordelia, taking her life force and putting Cordelia in a coma. This would have led to Angel and Connor taking on Jasmine at the same time upon her defeat, her life force would be returned to Cordelia, thus waking her up. This was discarded
  • Another idea for Living On A Prayer was to have Connor sleep with Piper and she would later give birth to Jasmine. This was discarded for being too similar to the source
  • The short story Everytime, which is a Slayalive Scribe Challenge, was based upon the Britney Spears song ‘Everytime’
  • The name and appearance of the Tarkna demons from Inferno come from the Tarkatans of Mortal Kombat. Several months after Inferno was completed, Conflagration Broach was soon published, in which the Scoobies and Fang Gang travel to OutWorld
  • The idea of Conflagration Broach came from ‘Mortal Kombat: Armageddon’, in which Buffyverse characters were created and played with in-game, leading to the story in which the Scoobies and Fang Gang battle Shao Kahn and Blaze
  • The start of Conflagration Broach is very similar to the ending of Shadow of the Day, with the only difference is that Illyria doesn’t appear in the latter
  • All titles of the Poster Girl series are songs. Poster Girl is by Backstreet Boys, Measures of a Man is by Clay Aiken, Anything for Love is by Meatloaf, Living On A Prayer is by Bon Jovi, Shadow of the Day is by Linkin Park and Final Destination is by Within Temptation
  • The original ending of Spike: After the Fall was going to have Spike and Illyria lose against Wesley and get sent to hell, before getting rescued by Angel in the start of Crimson Sky. Also, Crimson Sky was to end with Spike going to the realm of the Senior Partners and defeating them
  • The lawyer who greets Angel in the start of Shadow of the Day is called Jackson Hodge. In the TV show, the same lawyer is place by TJ Thyne, who later stars with David Boreanaz (Angel) in the TV show 'Bones' as Jack Hodgins, hence the name
  • The Nina Ash in Shadow of the Day is different from the Nina Ash in the TV show. TV Nina is a twenty-something artistic werewolf with an interest in Angel. The Poster Girl Nina is an eighteen-year-old high school student who becomes a werewolf and later starts a relationship with Connor, who she attends the same classes with
  • Spike: End of Days was created for the purpose of a back story for Wicked Prayer, which is set 200 years in the future
  • Spike’s appearance in Spike vs Fray: Wicked Prayer is based upon Captain John Hart from ‘Torchwood’, who is portrayed by James Marsters, who is also well known for playing as Spike. Also, Spike and Illyria’s son, Sullivan, is named after James Marsters’ son
  • Dean Winchester was meant to die at the end of Inferno, but this was changed so he lived in order for him to have a relationship with Faith
  • There are only two stories (not including sequels) in which Cordelia is Connor’s biological mother. On a sidenote, there are only three stories in which Cordelia comes back from the dead, two where it is permanent

I'm Quiting Fanfiction

Yes, the title says it all. I am quiting fanfiction at the end of this year following the completion of Sons of Sparda VI. Or I could just delete that and end with Shadow of the Day. Reasons for quiting? I don't feel appreciated enough these days with my writing. I write all these stories and all these chapters, yet I am receiving hardly any feedback from them. A writer needs feedback in order to keep writing. With me not getting anything these days, I feel like my glory days are past and that I should hang up the pen while I can
That said, I'll still write some fanfiction for myself for enjoyment, as well as the occassional challenge on Slayalive. But I won't be posting any more fanfiction on Fanfiction.net. I'm sorry, but that is how I feel these days. If people can convince me otherwise, maybe I will return to FF.net, but from the looks of things, I'm finishing there at the end of this year
Sorry

I'm Engaged

Yes, I am now engaged to my girlfriend of six months. Six months and it feels like it was longer than that, but I'm not complaining. It was the right next step to take. And I didn't even go down on one knee or ask 'will you marry me?' That is so cliche and so not me. That's not how I do things. I just pretty much just gave her the open box. She was so shocked and surprised. But then again, I already had her answer, I just needed to do it officially. So now, the engagement party is in two weeks and our wedding will take place next year in late winter or early spring

Angel & Cordelia: Soulmates?

So here's the big question: Angel and Cordelia: Soulmates or not? Now, this could come off as completely bias since I'm a huge Cangel fan. Number 1 favourite couple on the list. Anyhow, I'm gonna talk about why I think they're soulmates

They're really good friends. Have been ever since Angel season 1, though we won't include season 4 and I'm not really too sure about season 2. But Angel has cared about Cordelia since season 1, even though he didn't really show it until towards the end of season 1, when she was attacked by the Vocah demon and he says that he needs her by his side. Then, we have season 2, where after reuniting with the gang following his dark time, Angel tries his best to apologise to Cordelia. I mean, he kinda ignores Wesley and Gunn just for Cordy's forgiveness. Then we have season 3, my second favourite season cuz of all the Cangel goodness. And baby Connor! Oh my, they looked like a real family! So cute, especially the end of Provider. Unfortunately, Groo comes along, wooes Cordy and takes her away, then Connor is kidnapped into a hell dimension and returns a week later as a 16-year-old (future) prat. The end of season 3 is kinda frustrating, cuz Angel and Cordy were gonna hook up, but were separeted. Damn you writers! And I'll curse you frigging bastards for fucking Cordelia and Connor around in season 4. Honestly, if you had a surrogate mother, would you sleep with her?? The fucken nerve of Joss. No wonder I'm not a big fan of him. Alright, let's move past season 4 and get to the 100th episode, 'You're Welcome'. Love this episode. Redeeming Cordy's character and sending her off in a nice hurrah. Plus, the ep is full of more Cangel goodness. But it's quite sad to see Cordy go. But it's great to see her return in After the Fall and help Angel while he's dying. And he says he loves her! Yes!!
Look, I'm not all that great at analysing, defining and insightfulness. I'm not all that intelligent and I can't make those great and brilliant arguments that I keep reading and make me go 'yeah, that's right'. But I really do believe Angel and Cordelia are soulmates. I can't convince people or make them understand, but watch Angel. The entire series, except maybe season 4 and only watch You're Welcome in season 5. I always love a relationship that is full of humour, caring, love, loyalty and devotion. And that's what's in Angel and Cordelia's relationship. They are really good friends who love each other, care about each other, are devoted to each other, know each other like the back of their hands and they laugh with each other. And fight, which are quite funny to watch. They would have been a really great couple if the writers hadn't snorted crack during season 4. And I truly think they are soulmates. They have all this potential to be soulmates. I don't understand how people can say that Buffy and Angel are soulmates. So Angel is Buffy's first love? Big whoop. I'm with my second love and she's my soulmate. But that's got nothing to do with this. But all Angel and Buffy had were just tears-ridden angst and eye-rolling passion. I found it boring. But with Cangel, now that's interesting. And it's really beautiful and interesting to see Angel and Cordelia interact, all the way from Buffy season 1 to Angel After the Fall. Angel and Cordelia are soulmates, in my opinion, and whoever says otherwise can say hello to my little friend
Cangel 4ever peeps

Marvel Movies

Did a thread about this on Slayalive, with a poll as well to make it more interesting....hmm, come back to that one later. So, I thought I'd write this about those movies, my thoughts and what I think should be done next
  • Spider-Man: An excellent trilogy, let down a little by number 3. I mean, Peter Parker going all emo and cruising down the street like he's 'the Man'. Okaaay, did all the writers take crack at that time or what? And the scene with him and MJ at the bridge?? Need I say more? Spider-Man is a great series and I can't wait to see what they do with Spidey 4. Hopefully, it'll be better than 3 and I think they should have Peter and MJ either on their way to getting married or are married and MJ is pregnant. Guess we'll see in 2011
  • X-Men: My favourite Marvel series, again let down a little by number 3, though Wolverine does pick it up and it's a very good movie on its own. Nuff said really about X-Men. All I want to see now is X-Men 4 with Apocalypse as the bad guy, have Wolverine remember Origins, bring back Deadpool, Gambit and Sabretooth, as well as Cyclops and Emma Frost, throw in X-23 (who should appear in Wolverine 2 or in a solo movie) and I'll be happy. Maybe an X-Force should be done. Yeeeaaahhh
  • Blade: Very good trilogy and it should be left as a trilogy. Now, while I love Blade 3 (I mean, Ryan Reynolds? Hilarious) I love Blade 2 the best. Action, drama, suspense with a touch of romance. Blade 2 is easily the best of the trilogy
  • Fantastic Four: Honestly, as a comic, I don't like Fantastic Four. The movie, however, is a different story. Watched the first one just to see what it was like and actually quite enjoyed it, so I got the second one and enjoyed that one as well. Quite loved it. Now, I'm just hoping that they'll do a Fantastic Four 3, but I kinda doubt it. It's not as popular as Spidey or X-Men, so the chances of FF3 is very slim
  • Daredevil/Elektra: In my opinion, on the bottom of the Marvel ladder, with Daredevil second last and Elektra last. Daredevil wasn't too bad, but it's not as great as the asforementioned movies. Elektra isn't all that great. She doesn't seem like the Elektra from Daredevil, despite being played by the same chick and it seems a little over the place
  • Hulk: Hmm...Hulk...Eric Bana wasn't all that bad, but Ed Norton is much better. A hell of a lot better. The final battle is pretty impressive and it was quite cool to see Iron Man at the end. I wonder what they'll do in Hulk 2, but we'll have to wait until after the Avengers
  • Iron Man: Turned out to be a very good movie. Quite enjoyed it. Seeing Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury was pretty cool and Iron Man vs Iron Monger was cool. I'm eagerly awaiting Iron Man 2 and I wanna see Avengers, mainly cuz of him
  • Punisher: Now, this movie wasn't too bad, although Frank Castle never seems to die. He gets shot, I think stabbed and also blown up, but still lives. However, you can't really have the hero die now can you? Still, this wasn't a bad flick and I liked it
  • Ghost Rider: Hmm, what can I say about this? It's not as great as the previous movies, but it's better than Daredevil, I guess. The one thing I was disappointed about this movie was the high lack of action, mainly fight scenes. I mean, Ghost Rider beats the bad guys with just one move. How boring is that? If (and I think they are) they make Ghost Rider 2, bring in Lilith and Scarecrow, as well as some goddamn fight scenes. I wanna see Ghost Rider kick some freaking ass!

Upcoming Marvel movies are: Wolverine 2, X-Men: First Class, Thor, Ant-Man (groan! why oh why?) and Avengers. Movies they should do: X-Men 4, X-23, Fantastic Four 3, X-Force and one massive Marvel movies with characters from the above movies

...and the crapiness of Aftermath

Okay, so After the Fall was wonderful. Slightly flawed, but overall, an epic and well-written story. Now, we have the follow-up: Aftermath. Written by an unknown Kelley Armstrong and drawn by an unknown Dave Ross, Aftermath ended up becoming...a failure. The writting is terrible, the storyline is all over the place and the art is horrendous. For example, Angel looks like a Chinese Hulk-like bodybuilder...with no tattoo! Connor looks like a girl and Kate Lockley looks nothing like herself. There's some new character called Dez, who I have no interest in really and a later new character called James. Oh and he's an angel. From heaven. Really. The main storyline seems to be about Angel and gang trying to figure out why humans are acting like animals. Turns out, they are animals turned into humans by the time reset and thus, must be turned back into animals. Animal shifter lover writing the arc here, so that doesn't surprise me. Did I mention that Gwen is also there, wanting to prove her worth to Connor. And Connor acts worse than he did in Season 4. I mean, wtf?? Let's just say the characters are completely off and don't even look anything like themselves. Then, we have another story introduced in which angels are on earth, killing off demons to lower the numbers, but they're killing every demon they find. Angel joins forces with James to learn why the angels are being kidnapped (honestly, the whole angel thing is ridiculous. It feelt too much like Supernatural, which did it better). Now, I don't have the final issue in the arc, but I just know it's going to be bad. I mean, they even brought Cordelia in to explain why the angels are here and that Angel should listen to James. Her appearance is soooo completely wasted in this. Angel doesn't even to react to her appearance. God, this shouldn't have been done or at least, should be done by somewhere who know's what they're writing about, as if they've watched Angel and read After the Fall. Aftermath is a terrible follow-up for After the Fall and I eagerly await the return of Lynch and Urru and I can't wait to find out who the new writer is for the rest of Angel. If you want to follow on from Aftermath right, just kill Dez, send James back to heaven and have it never mentioned again. Simple and easy. People, just don't buy Aftermath. Okay?

The epicness of After the Fall...

Okay, so now I'm gonna do a big review of Angel: After the Fall, followed by a review of Angel: Aftermath, even though I don't have issue #22 yet. Why? Cuz I feel like it, dammit. I wanna talk about it without being judged and this is a good place to do it
Alright then, let's begin. After the Fall picks up a few months after the epic and wonderful 'Not Fade Away'. We learn who lived and who died following the cliffhanger finale. The first issue starts off with Angel protecting some humans from demons with the help of a dragon. Yep, remember that dragon he wanted to kill? Well, now they're buddies, fighting to protect the innocent from big bad Hell. Oh yeah, Los Angeles has been sent to Hell as a result of Angel's betrayal. And from there, the story unfolds and there's revelations that surprise you. Angel is human, Wesley is a ghost, Gunn is a vampire, Spike and Illyria are living together (unfortunately, not quite boning each other), Connor has a safehouse with Nina Ash and Gwen Raiden (who he's dating and wants to bone) and Lorne is Lord of Silverlake
Now, Angel has picked a fight with the demonic lords of Los Angeles. Nice one, Angel. But with the help of his friends, some magical sticks (don't ask me) and 'bibbety, bobbety, boo' he defeats the Lords and heads to the Hyperion. From there, the fun gets better. Gunn reveals himself to the gang and nearly kills Angel (who enters the spiritual world with Cordelia). Meanwhile, Gwen is a traitor, the dragon (who is called Cordelia) is killed by other dragons and Gwen dies. Then, Spike dies, killed by slayers, but is resurrected (again) by the time-slip. Forgot to mention, Illyria's time-slipping and turning into Fred. Gunn, after getting beaten by Connor, kills the remnants of Fred, thus turning Illyria into her true form. She kills the Groosalugg (yeah, he's there, riding a pegasus named, you guessed it, Cordelia), while Gunn kills Connor. Angel defeats Illyria, then fights against Gunn in an epic battle to the death. Angel allows himself to get killed, thus resetting the time, so they're back in the alley in 'Not Fade Away', but they all remember their time in Hell. Angel is able to save a human Gunn, who falls into a coma, while Wolfram and Hart has actually disappeared. Illyria is protecting Gunn, Connor is alive and Angel forgives Gunn for his actions
This was a very excellent story brought to us by Brian Lynch. It has some great writing and great moments (I felt so sad for Connor when he died). One minor issue I had was the art. Urru's art was alright, it was good (I like his Illyria). Runge's art was, eh, okay, but the ending of issue #11 is horrible, but his drawing of an evil Angel in the future is impressive. Mooney's is good. I liked his Angel and Cordelia, but his Gunn was a little off sometimes and also with the backgrounds sometimes with both Runge and Mooney. I was happy for the return of Urru and loved his art for the final three issues. I have to say by far that issue #16 is my favourite. It is full of sadness and epicness. Angel's sadness at losing his son, his rage at the Senior Partners and his battle against Gunn as hell rains down and Spike fights off the Partners' army. Then, we have the battle in the alley, which is pretty cool to read, while issue #17 finishes the series off very nicely. So, in my opinion, After the Fall is a very excellent read, with some minor flaws, but not very much that it'll be brought down. The writing is excellent, the art's a little off, but otherwise, it's the perfect follow-up to Not Fade Away. Lynch and artists, take a bow

X-23: Wolverine's daughter or sister?

Okay, thought I get the whole blog thing rolling by starting off with this. I've been wanting to write this for a long time, but have never been able to...until now. This is an issue that I want to get off my chest: the issue of X-23 from Marvel Comics (X-Men/Force) and whether she's more like Wolverine's daughter or sister. Let's begin
So, we all know about Wolverine, right? Logan, aka James Howlett, yada yada yada. Well, soon after he underwent the Weapon X program and escaped, there were plans to clone him. However, they couldn't make a male clone, cuz the male gene was damaged. So they decided to create a female clone. So, let's introduce Sarah Kinney, who has the embryo implanted in her. Nine months later, Laura Kinney aka X-23 is born. And we all know what happens next right? X-23 grows up as an assassin, until she escapes and eventually makes her way to the X-Men. Now, here comes the fun part of the discussion. What's her relationship to Logan apart from clone?
For me, I see Laura as Logan's daughter. Why? Well, let's see. She was created from Wolverine's DNA and was born like an ordinary human. She has a mother and it's pretty much like Logan went ahead and boned Sarah. Now, Logan is doing his best to help humanise Laura. He has stated she is his responsibility and he is very protective of her. I'd say father-like protective. The idea that Laura could be considered as his sister is very stupid
Sarah: 'Hey, Logan, my daughter was created using your DNA, but she's your sister'
Explain that one to me. And let's put it this way, if X-Men: Evolution had gone to a fifth season, then Laura was gonna state that Logan is her father. And X-Men: Evolution is when Laura very first appeared. So why would her creators do that and then turn around in the comics and have Logan and Laura be brother and sister? It doesn't make sense. For me, in a complete sense, Laura, for all intents and purposes, is Logan's daughter. That's how I see it and that's how I want to see it played out. The minute it's stated she is Logan's sister, I'm gonna put that comic through the shredder
